Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Position Purpose:

Apply knowledge of engineering principles and practices to effectively accomplish technical assignments and projects. Make decisions independently based upon sound engineering and scientific methods. Strengthen the Product Quality Architecture within the Trivium Cable Plant by driving fundamental understanding and continual improvements that positively influence the Quality Management System.

 

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or another technical field

• Ability to influence other groups in the organization to reach a common goal

• Creative/innovative problem solving and strong analytical skills

• Good written/verbal communication and presentation skills

• Can establish a broad network and collaborate across organizational boundaries and the engineering and technology organizations

• Effective in managing multiple priorities

 

Desired:

• 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing environment

• Fiber Optic Cable and/or Hardware product knowledge

• Project leadership experience

• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and Statistical Analysis

 

Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day problem-solving support to production operations and process engineering

• Interface with various levels of plant and division management regarding quality and quality-related actions (Product Line Management, Engineering, Sales, Customer Service, Scheduling, Production, Inter-Plant, Inter-Division).

• Identify process or product improvements and cost reduction projects based on analysis of performance against critical to quality attributes. The individual is expected to utilize the scientific method to develop, test, and prove hypotheses.

• Lead efforts to streamline process audits while maintaining achieved certifications from standards body.

• Understand internal and external customers stated and implied needs as well as ensuring their expectations are met every time by monitoring, maintaining, supporting and continuously improving plant quality systems.

The range for this position is  $79,997.00   -  $109,996.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
