Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose Are you a strategic thinker with hands-on leadership in production and maintenance operations? Join our team to manage plant-level initiatives, drive continuous improvement, and meet ambitious targets in cost, quality, inventory, safety, and service—while helping shape the future of our manufacturing excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise daily production and maintenance operations, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.

Drive performance by reporting key production metrics and ensuring daily and weekly targets are met.

Oversee and coach team leaders to optimize talent, improve effectiveness, and uphold high standards of performance.

Champion change management and process control initiatives to enhance process stability and respond to operational shifts.

Coordinate resources for production schedules, including product transitions, testing, and maintenance activities.

Collaborate across departments to improve process efficiencies, reduce costs, and maximize production throughput.

Foster strong interdepartmental communication to anticipate and address upstream and downstream impacts.

Develop and execute strategies for talent management and workforce development in line with company programs.

Safeguard intellectual property and uphold standards for manufacturing competencies.

Approve and oversee all changes to equipment, materials, and production processes.
Required Education and Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree (preferably in a technical field).
-
5+ years’ leadership experience in a manufacturing plant environment.

Proven ability to lead non-exempt employees and deliver on operational and financial metrics.

Training in conflict resolution, coaching, and supervisory practices.
-
Deep understanding of plant financials, safety, and health fundamentals.
-
Experience communicating across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Exposure to diverse manufacturing processes and corporate networks.

Green Belt certification or demonstrated Lean Manufacturing experience.

Experience developing and executing departmental talent strategies.

Participation in new product introduction or innovation project teams.

The range for this position is $118,428.00 - $162,839.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
