Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Scope of Position:

Involves the overall planning, implementation and optimization of activities and support required for the delivery of fiber optic cable to our business partners. Primary areas of responsibility include production order dating, scheduling, releasing production orders to operations, supply chain related project work, and data analysis.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Support production planning activities, including order management, delivery promising, and reporting of actual manufacturing results vs. plan
  • Ensure constrained capacities are not overbooked
  • Release and schedule production orders using various optimization tools and processes
  • Seamlessly communicate with plant, product line management and customer care to update order status and expedite orders as needed
  • Optimize finished goods, fiber and key raw material allocation
  • Move fallout and short length inventory
  • Leverage SAP / APO system to drive process improvements in throughput, inventory and to reduce process variation

 

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 1 year of Supply Chain experience

 

Desired Skills:

  • Project Management
  • Understand aspects of inventory management
  • SAP/ERP knowledge and experience

The range for this position is $63,000.00 - $86,625.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
