Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Warehouse Team Leader to support 24/7 ongoing warehouse operations. This position will be expected to work hand in hand with supply chain and operations supervisors to ensure consistency in leadership across the shifts and performance management of the hourly workforce. The position will have shared responsibility for inventory management, shipping and receiving, warehouse optimization and cutting operations.
- Identify areas of inefficient operations and implement improvements.
- Utilize capacity models to develop staffing and processing plans.
- Identify process bottlenecks and manage resources to improve.
- Investigate and implement all corrective actions.
- Identify, investigate, and proactively solve current and potential safety concerns.
- Implement procedures in assigned areas to meet and maintain ISO standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Adjust staffing and machine assignments to achieve optimal flow of materials and operational efficiency while managing employee time and attendance for timely and accurate payroll processing.
- Encourage and develop an environment of constant, open, honest communication. Develop employee involvement to ensure employee is a partner in the business.
- Directly responsible for performing work in a safe manner and maintaining a safe work environment. Is responsible for his/her safety, as well as that of others that may be at the facility, whether working or visiting. Is responsible for observing safe work practices and being proactive for reporting any unsafe conditions.
- Lead implementation of process and procedure changes throughout assigned areas.
- Ensure all employees are continually provided with appropriate job-related training and education.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree or 7 years of leadership experience in an operations environment
- Minimum 2 years of experience in warehouse
- Ability to lead a group of associates in meetings to help facilitate continuous process improvement.
- Ability to effectively give direction to employees at all levels when leading semi-complex to complex projects.
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams within the organization and leadership
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or business
- Ability to effectively utilize software programs, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Word
- SAP experience

The range for this position is $75,761.00 - $104,172.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
