Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

LOCATION: Home based in the USA – NORTHEAST
Job Purpose:
The Sales Engineer provides consultative support to sales opportunities that aid in accelerating and achieving the region’s revenue targets; including, presenting to clients indoor and outdoor wireless/wireline designs, conducting Proof of Concepts, and serving as a liaison between the Sales, Marketing, Product, and R&D teams.
Required Qualifications:
- RF engineering experience (In-building & Outdoor design, DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems), Small Cell, CRAN, Wi-Fi design)
- Level 1 and Level 2 in iBwave Certification and experience using iBwave’s software suites: Design, Wi-Fi, FiberPass, Mobile, Unity
- In-depth experience in designing, deploying, and optimizing wireless in-building & outdoor networks (passive and active DAS); knowledge of related equipment and vendors (including Data Collection Tools)
- Understand differentiators between CDMA, WCDMA, GSM, EDGE, GPRS, TDMA, iDEN, Wi-Fi, LTE, 5G NR (New Radio), IoT (Internet of Things), and other protocols
- Ability to travel is necessary (up to 50%)
Desired Qualifications:
- MapInfo and Infovista Planet experience a plus
- CWNP certification is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Developing and presenting technical solutions that address clients’ problems and initiatives by applying a consultative approach (on-site or virtual) tailored to their technical requirements and competitive landscape
- In-building and Outdoor technical expert and advisor to Clients, Sales, Marketing, Training, Product, and R&D teams
- Develop and Deliver solution workshops, product demonstrations, technical education, webinars, and Proof of Concepts while articulating business value for the product portfolio
- Problem documentation/re-creation and issue escalation/resolution
- Participating in RF (Radio Frequency) Engineering related activities (product testing, special projects, new features)

The range for this position is $107,188.00 - $147,384.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
