Purpose of role

As part of the Corning Global Security’s investigations team, you will use multiple digital resources to monitor for, detect, analyze, investigate, and communicate potential threats to Corning’s information, reputation, and values originating from inside the company.

The investigations team embraces continual improvement, building best practices, new processes, and developing creative approaches to accomplish our mission, and is looking for someone creative and rigorous in problem solving.

 

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Conduct rigorous, accurate, and complete analysis of data from multiple sources
  • Quickly and accurately assess incidents using Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools
  • Prepare materials and provide ongoing support for investigations
  • Conduct case reviews and continuously calibrate activity according to investigative needs
  • Generate, review, and analyze internal system reports & metrics to identify and mitigate risk
  • Build on and improve existing data integration and correlation tools and processes
  • Partner with Information Security / IT for system changes, versioning, and general support
  • Develop, manage, review, and adapt operational documentation to support consistency and governance in accordance with privacy and regulatory compliance

 

Required Experience and Education:

  • High degree of confidentiality and personal integrity
  • Proficient in data analysis tools such as database MS Excel and PowerBI
  • Proficiency in, and careful, rigorous approach to data analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills to facilitate communication with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to identify and escalate concerns to and partner with Information Security, IT, Data Privacy, and other key stakeholders
  • Qualified to work with ITAR, or otherwise federally regulated materials
  • Ability to work in a small, high-performance team environment

 

Desired skills:

  • Functional understanding of SQL queries, SQL server reporting services, and SharePoint workflows
  • Functional understanding of coding, esp. in Python
  • Curiosity and a drive/capability to continuously improve
  • A functional understanding of MS Power Automate
  • An understanding of Corning’s business and assets
  • Advanced technical skill sets / background, especially in data science, use of APIs, Visual Studio Editor
  • Using statistics and/or machine learning for trending and anomaly detection
  • Ability to implement principles of Quality management and continuous improvement

 

Education

  • 4yr degree with 5+ years of related experience
