Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Purpose of Position:

Highly knowledgeable, impactful leader of the IBN Solution Architecture team. Responsible for developing team strategy around engagement and messaging to market. Key objectives include driving adoption of a wide portfolio of Corning Optical Communications solutions through thought leadership, technical sales support, integrator development, & training. Advance Corning’s position in the in-building technology space through the identification and participation in market and technology trends. Position can be based in the following locations: Continental US

 

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in the telecommunications industry with 5 years Managerial experience
  • Understanding of the competitive environment impacting in-building & communication networks
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate direct and indirect reports
  • Strong presentation skills; comfort level speaking to C-suite executives.
  • CCNA or equivalent route/switch/LAN knowledge
  • Understanding of fiber-optic connectivity products, remote-DC powering, and long-reach concepts
  • BA or BS in Engineering or Business

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Corning commercial success in all IBN applications by driving the adoption of Corning solutions, demonstrating internal and external thought leadership, and by providing consultative and technical support throughout the selling process.
  •  Identify and develop new customers and integrators for IBN FttE solutions
  • Assist in training and equipping sales engineers with understanding and communicating the IBN message around converged in-building networks and associated COC solutions
  • Provide technical, pre-sales support on IBN portfolio – including SD-LAN, remote power, Long-Reach, hybrid cable, and connectivity solutions.
  • Meet yearly budget for overall FTTE segment while growing Core LAN.
  • Collaborate with PLM, Market Development, Marketing, and sales to evaluate, modify and prioritize products and product road maps to meet customer requirements
  • Provide regular feedback with regards to pricing, trends, product & market opportunities, etc. Develop strong relationships with key decision makers within target accounts & ecosystem.
  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the IBN regional businesses to recognize opportunities and provide accurate forecasts.

The range for this position is $139,958.00 - $192,442.00.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
