FinOps Manager

Role Purpose

As the Global FinOps Manager, Cloud & Infrastructure, you will establish and lead Corning’s infrastructure financial management program, initially focused on AWS, Azure, and hybrid infrastructure environments. You will create the operating model, governance, reporting, and optimization practices needed to improve financial transparency and investment decisions. Over time, you will expand the program across data centers, manufacturing sites, networks, end-user technologies, and other infrastructure services. You will lead a global team and influence stakeholders across technology, finance, security, vendor management, architecture, and the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and lead a global FinOps operating model, including governance, processes, controls, decision rights, performance measures, and stakeholder forums.
• Establish clear visibility into cloud and infrastructure spending through allocation models, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, showback or chargeback, executive dashboards, and actionable KPIs.
• Drive optimization across AWS, Azure, private cloud, and other infrastructure environments by improving utilization, managing commitments, identifying waste, addressing anomalies, and evaluating architecture and vendor decisions.
• Translate technical consumption, operational performance, and infrastructure investments into unit economics, ROI analysis, business-value insights, and clear recommendations for senior leaders.
• Lead and develop a global FinOps team while building shared accountability across Infrastructure, Engineering, Finance, Security, Vendor Management, Enterprise Architecture, and business stakeholders.

Experiences/Education - Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 or more years of experience in FinOps, IT finance, technology financial management, cloud economics, infrastructure management, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience leading, developing, or transforming teams in a complex global or enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing or influencing financial operations across public cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Microsoft Azure.
• Strong knowledge of cloud and infrastructure cost drivers, shared-service allocation, forecasting, budgeting, financial controls, commitment models, unit economics, and ROI analysis.
• Experience translating technical, operational, and architectural information into financial insights and executive level recommendations.
• Proven ability to lead through influence across technology, finance, procurement, security, engineering, business, and executive stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and change-leadership skills, with the ability to explain complex technical and financial concepts clearly.
