Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Role Purpose

Performs accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes data on financial and or operational metrics and performances.
  • Performs activities to execute and help monitor daily operations of a unit.
  • Performs data mining and validation using established methodologies and tools.
  • Assists with analysis and preparation of financial and budgetary reports.
  • Compiles and reviews data for accuracy; prepares trend analysis.
  • Executes routine, ad hoc analysis and reporting to support business unit objectives and business partner relationships.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Advanced English.
  • 4 years of experiencie in similar roles.
  • Experience applying established accounting procedures and reviewing procedures and documentation against guidelines.
  • Experience using systems to collect data and generate information to fulfill data requests and support finance activities.
  • Experience analyzing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Experience producing routine reports on performance against a range of metrics in a timely manner.
  • Experience performing basic accounting research under close supervision.
  • Experience collaborating and communicating with non-Finance audiences to execute tasks.
  • Demonstrated initiative to cultivate networks and identify strategic relationships with plant production and non-Finance teams.
  • SAP and PeopleSoft knowledge.
