Scope of Position:
The IT Network Analyst is responsible for maintaining and optimizing Corning’s network infrastructure. This role ensures the stability, integrity, secure and efficient operation of the network systems that support core organizational functions.
The engineer will work closely with other IT teams to troubleshoot and resolve network issues, implement new technologies, and ensure the network is meeting global standards.
Responsibilities:
Serve as network subject matter expert, providing technical support to a complex global network environment.
Support network solutions i.e. routing, switching, SDWAN, DDI, etc.. For these services the candidate will be:
- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance
- Collaborate with IT teams in cross-functional troubleshooting
- Maintain documentation network processes and procedures up to date
- Perform RCA (root cause analysis) on issues, taking preventative measures to avoid reoccurrence
- Collaborate with Architect and Engineering teams to improve the network reliability and performance
- Application transport and network infrastructure protocols, such as EIGRP, BGP, and OSPF
- Evaluate and refine handover and training documentation provided by engineering teams
- Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours network support
Education and Experience:
- 4-year degree in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools.
- Experience analyzing requirements for implementing, supporting, and troubleshooting network devices/functions/tools/processes is a plus
Required Skills
- Understanding of network protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs).
- Experience with automation and coding, scripting Network changes.
- Skilled in configuring and managing network devices (e.g., routers, switches, wireless).
- Configuring and using monitoring/alerting/forensic tools (e.g. SolarWinds, NetBrain, CACTI, Wireshark)
- Experience with network security practices and tools (e.g., NAC)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.
Travel Requirement
- Potential travel of up to 30%, which may include international destinations
