Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
The Supervisor, HR Shared Services is responsible for delivering efficient shared services across employee lifecycle events (e.g., onboarding/offboarding), maintaining compliance standards, driving process improvements within HR functions globally, and supporting organizational goals related to employee experience management. This role will perform these responsibilities individually and will lead a team to deliver operational priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and coordinate various HR tasks through consistent application of standardized processes (e.g., onboarding workflows).
- Implement process controls that ensure accuracy while adhering to company policies/regulations.
- Prioritize ongoing tasks such as managing employee data updates or responding to inquiries from employees/managers.
- Evaluate current workflows; recommend/implement improvements that contribute to increased efficiency while enhancing the overall employee experience.
- Provide leadership, oversight, and strategy for HR shared services team.
- Drive efficient delivery of shared service processes to meet organizational goals.
- Engage across the HRSS service portfolio to proactively understand and address employee needs.
- Foster collaboration with global teams supporting HR shared services operations
- Identify and implement process improvements within team, continually ensuring global and regional alignment where applicable
Lead a team focused on operational priorities such as:
- Timely responses to changing business needs
- Forecasting and assigning work allocations in support of achieving daily targets while exceeding employee expectations.
- Develop team talent by identifying opportunities for enhancing skills through training and experiential learning specific to HR processes.
- Collaborate closely with various departments (HR Business Partners, Talent Acquisition) and key stakeholders to streamline processes that improve efficiency while ensuring compliance with policies/procedures related to employment practices.
- Assist operations in maintaining adherence to company standards regarding employee experience management.
- Identify potential risks associated with unresolved or delayed transactions and propose strategies for risk mitigation.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development or Labor Relations or equivalent qualification/experience

- Stakeholder management experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Power Point, Power BI
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal)
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

- Oversee risk management efforts tied directly to employee-related transactions within shared services workflows.
- Act as main point-of-contact for escalations requiring CSS leadership engagement—conduct root cause analysis on issues affecting employees’ experiences—and ensure corrective/preventative actions are implemented effectively.
- Monitor KPIs related specifically toward timely resolution rates & quality metrics
