Internal Controls Specialist

What will you do? 

This is a key role that partners with USA and Mexico teams on internal control audits and lease operations of their different sites. It is expected to collaborate across functions and cultures by identifying different continuous improvement practices and building trust and positive relationships. 

• Controls and compliance: 

• Execute defined control procedures over leasing (SOX, policy adherence); prepare schedules, evidence, and walkthroughs for internal/external audit requests. 

• Ensure that appropriate review for routine lease journal entries, reconcile lease-related accounts, and maintain documentation and audit trails. 

• Assists with testing the design/operating effectiveness of key controls, SOX scoping updates, and controls rationalization; help coach process owners on control basics and good documentation practices. 

• Coordinate end-to-end lease operations:  

• Coordinate lease intake, validation, master data maintenance, and system updates; partner with different teams to ensure accuracy and completeness. 

• Lease accounting support, ensure that appropriate review for routine lease journal entries, reconcile lease-related accounts, and maintain documentation. 
   

What do you require?  

• Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Accounting or related to the role 

• 4 to 6 years of experience in audit and internal controls  

• 4 to 6 years working within an international team, preferably in the US  

• Foundational understanding of US GAAP and internal control principles (SOX/COSO). 

• Familiarity with ERP and financial systems; ability to learn lease systems quickly. 

• Has worked with SAP, Peoplesoft or similar 

• Strong proven data analytics use for synthesizing data into clear insights that drive decisions
