Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Corning AI Products team is seeking highly skilled professionals to join our team as Power Platform solutions architect. The selected candidate will lead the full process of designing and delivering strong business solutions using Power Platform and related products, including Canvas and Model-driven Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Power BI, and Azure AI services. You will independently develop solutions to resolve a wide range of complex issues for internal customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution Architecture: Provide leadership in the technical design and implementation of enterprise-level applications utilizing Power Platform components—including Power Apps, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, and Power BI—with integrations to SharePoint, Dataverse, SQL, and other external systems. Develop engineering documentation that outlines both current and proposed solutions, such as architectural diagrams and operational run books.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze requirements and assess suitability for Microsoft Power Platform-based solutions or recommend alternate technologies and solutions where appropriate. Provide hands-on support for proofs-of-concept and demos, engaging with internal customers to shape solution vision.
- Power Platform Governance and Center of Excellence (CoE): Partner with the Citizen Development Product Manager and internal IT teams to establish and execute governance frameworks for Microsoft Power Platform applications (Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio). This includes developing environment management protocols, security measures, data loss prevention strategies, optimizing licensing practices, and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Hands-On Development: Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain new or existing Microsoft Power Platform solutions. Support and troubleshoot as needed, addressing bugs and performing root cause analysis. Guide backlog, review sprint architecture, and ensure performance, security, and maintainability. Remain updated on Power Platform features and best practices.
- Automation & Integration Expertise : Design and implement automated workflows (flows) and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) using Microsoft's Power Automate platform to streamline business processes. Integrate Power Platform solutions with Microsoft and third-party apps via APIs and PA connectors (custom/standard).
- Innovation and Strategy: Leverage emerging AI capabilities, including Copilot Studio (multi-agent orchestration, plugins/actions, grounding) and Azure AI Foundry, and begin to apply Agentic AI approaches to create adaptive, intelligent solutions.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field required.
- 10+ years of overall experience working in IT, with at least 5 years of direct, hands-on experience designing and building solutions specifically using Microsoft Power Platform.
- Proficiency in Power Apps (Canvas Apps), Power Automate, Copilot Studio, AI Builder, PowerShell, Power FX, MS SQL, and Power BI solutions using DAX.
- A strong understanding of Microsoft 365 services, including SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive, is essential.
- Familiarity with Azure services, such as Azure Functions, Logic Apps, and Azure DevOps, and their integration with Power Platform is necessary.
- Certifications Required: Certified Power Platform Developer Associate or equivalent (required), Power Platform Solution Architect Expert (preferred)
