Job Summary

Warehouse Operations Management: 

Oversee and optimize all inbound and outbound activities within the Warehouse Office to ensure seamless operations.

 

Inbound Operations:

Plan and coordinate incoming shipments of finished goods via containers, trucks, and air freight.

Manage returns, inventory controls, and procedures, including proper handling of items marked as “on hold” or designated for scrapping.

 

Outbound Operations:

Process and facilitate shipments across ground, parcel, truck, air, and ocean freight channels.

Ensure all shipments are dispatched on time, meeting customer requirements and delivery deadlines.

 

Transportation Coordination:

Collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders, and agents to schedule shipments, calculate freight costs, and drive efficient transportation solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise Warehouse, Storeroom, Palletizer, and Bag machine staff to ensure efficient and effective operations, fostering a positive and safe work environment.

 

Customer and Operations Management:

Approve and validate customer requirements within the OPS process.

Plan and prioritize incoming shipments (air, truck, sea) and ensure timely booking to facilitate warehouse activities.

 

Coordinate outbound shipments with designated carriers to enhance warehouse efficiency, reduce transportation costs, and meet or exceed customer expectations, Order Cycle Time, and Line Fill metrics.

Ensure pick batches in PS are accurately confirmed, closed, or manually created for non-automated shipments to enable timely picking and packing.

 

Documentation and Compliance:

Prepare all necessary paperwork for outbound shipments, including packing slips, pro forma/commercial invoices, freight calculations, and customs documents.

Archive documentation in compliance with Corning policies and regulatory requirements.

Execute filing activities and ensure accurate data reporting for inbound and outbound shipments.

 

Process Optimization and Strategy:

Focus on process excellence to exceed customer expectations and minimize costs.

Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain inventory and shipping accuracy, reduce backlog, and meet customer requirements.

Support the implementation of supply chain strategies and process changes, acting as a champion to drive adoption.

Additional Responsibilities

Performance and Metrics Management:

Coordinate and measure department activities to achieve organizational goals, including backorder management, carrier performance, returned goods, inventory accuracy, material handling, and receipt of finished goods.

Work with the Inventory Specialist to manage inventory, conduct cycle counts, perform root cause analysis, and resolve discrepancies

 

Training and Development:

Develop and deliver training programs, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and departmental job aids.

Communicate process and procedure changes effectively to ensure successful implementation.

 

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure strict adherence to local, global, and Corning-specific environmental, health, and safety regulations.

Create and maintain a safe work environment, actively preventing injuries, accidents, and unsafe practices.

Be fully versed in Palletizer operations.

 

Project and Resource Management:

Successfully manage projects and ensure timely accomplishment of milestones.

Communicate resource conflicts or other challenges that may impact daily operations or project timelines.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Computer Skills (Microsoft Office)

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Supervisor and/or Warehousing experience
  • Supply Chain Management experience
  • Experience with SAP, PeopleSoft, Oracle

The range for this position is $75,998.00 - $104,498.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
