Scope of Position:

 In this role you will supervise, coordinate, and coach unionized employees engaged in the maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery at the plant. We look for you to be responsible for shift performance towards production objectives and personnel adherence to facility procedures, policies, and documentation.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction, prioritization, and mentorship to employees in the molder team.
  • Attend daily production meeting to cover key aspects of molder activities and weekly plant production planning meetings to ensure resource alignment supports customer job requirements.
  • Gather and analyze Process data relating to Continuous Flow process
  • Utilize knowledge of process control for manufacturing decision-making
  • Directly supervise all molder personnel responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment  
  • Ensure resource planning aligns with production/scheduling need
  • Play a key role in supporting continuous improvement efforts to achieve and sustain equipment availability and line performance goals.
  • Hold teams to standard operating procedures, code of conduct, plant/company and safety rules, collective bargaining agreement
  • Engage the Union workforce through setting clear expectations and holding the team accountable
  • Drive continual process improvement utilizing Six Sigma Process
  •  Achieve and maintain superior safety and housekeeping performance  
  • Contribute to company’s identified goals and objectives  
  • Support new product implementations as required
  • Management of the apprenticeship program.  
  • Perform other duties as required.


Travel Requirements:

<5%, Occasional trips to Corning, NY or Tewksbury, MA


Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

• M-F / Typically 7 am - 4 pm/ Flexible support as needed (Role supports a 24/7 facility)


Required Education:

  • Bachelors degree (engineering preferred)  


Required Years and Area of Experience:

  •  1+ years supervisory or manufacturing experience.


Required Skills:

  • Excellent leadership skills, ability to work at all levels of the organization, continuously mentor, coach or teach.
  • Critical decision-making skills, lead to SOP, trouble shoot and act under pressure.
  • Ability to understand and own multiple areas in the plant in order to prioritize and assign work and resources.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks at once.
  • Microsoft Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Intermediate level


Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Understanding of manufacturing systems/operations.  
  • Deep working knowledge of manufacturing equipment maintenance
  • Mold machine experience
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
  • Knowledge of CMMS (Maximo) system
  • Project and/or Union management experience
  • Project leadership (scope to implementation)
