Scope of Position:

MET team member that monitors and troubleshoots manufacturing processes as well as drives manufacturing improvement initiatives to reduce cost, increase capacity, and improve process capability. Provides second level troubleshooting of equipment/process issues in a manufacturing facility. Works hands-on with manufacturing equipment and activities. Identifies and supports process improvements. Uses judgment, experience and initiative to resolve problems and make recommendations.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining production equipment (“stewards of the equipment/process”)
  • Next level of troubleshooting after shift personnel (called on by shift personnel for troubleshooting help)
  • Monitoring equipment and processes
  • Making process/equipment/procedure adjustments
  • Manufacturing improvement identification and solutions
  • Responsible for MET engineering to support operations
  • Make process/equipment/procedure adjustments
  • Manufacturing process and equipment improvement identification and solutions
  • Collaboration with engineering and technology for process/equipment receivership
  • Trend analysis (by equipment, attribute, product) & monitoring / response plans
  • Recommend improvements to process/equipment and drive equipment robustness
  • Identify chronic issues and recommend corrective actions
  • Provide inputs about equipment maintenance requirements & shortfalls
  • Provide guidance, direction, and training to department and support personnel
  • Identify and drive cost reduction initiatives utilizing fundamental understanding of process capability and parts usage
  • Manufacturing improvement corrective action plans and solutions
  • Analysis of data, design, and execution of experiments
  • Work in MET team to drive equipment/process standardization and continuous improvements
  • Trend analysis (by equipment, attribute, product) & monitoring / response plans
  • Work with MET team to drive equipment/process standardization and continuous improvements
  • Work with operations team including shift supervisors, planning, and operations manager to improve overall manufacturing performance
  • Technology (process/product) receivership

Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 5% domestic.

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • 40+ hours, Monday – Friday, standard business hours.
  • Support for all production shifts as required.
  • Some flexibility may be needed for training.

 

Required Education & Required Years and Area of Experience:

  •  Associates + 2 years of manufacturing experience OR
  • High school diploma + 5 years of manufacturing experience
