Scope of Position:

In this role, you will provide day-to-day problem-solving support to Operations.  We look for you to take provide ownership of Manufacturing lines including hub of activities, monitoring of lines

 And oversee and prescribe repairs, troubleshooting and improvements.  You will need to identify process improvement and cost reduction projects based on analysis of process data by utilizing the scientific method to develop, test, and prove hypotheses.  

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cost justifications and capital requests for any new equipment purchases that may be required to achieve project goals.
  • Interface with operators, team leaders and peers to develop and implement process, equipment, or safety improvements into manufacturing.
  • Oversee all aspects of bringing new equipment into production, including preparation of financial justification, designing, specifying, purchasing, as well as tracking all spending related to the project.

 

Project Responsibilities:

  • Seek out industry technology advances for application on lines and equipment.
  • Leads, co-leads or supports attribute improvement projects, cost reduction projects or equipment upgrades.
  • Act as new equipment process/equipment receiver, clearly defining equipment acceptance criteria and communicating associated timelines.
  • Act with urgency to close out assigned projects by deadlines.
  • Consistently and effectively communicates issues and concerns to stakeholders.
  • Has well developed verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate scientific concepts and data to others.
  • Seeks out peers/shop personnel to gain high level of process understanding, listens to their concerns and seeks resolution rapidly within the functional area.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel time required <5%.

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Full time position, normal business hours 8:00 AM -5:00 PM M-F, work week could exceed 40 hours.
  • Expected to work hours required to meet manufacturing requirements or off hour support if necessary.

 

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required.

 

Required Years and Area of Experience:

  • 0-2+ years related engineering experience.

 

Required Skills:

  • Familiarity with process data.
  • Ability to take routine data retrieval and analysis and develop a standard methodology.
  • Strong working knowledge of statistical software packages
  • Basic Knowledge of Six Sigma (DMAIC) methodology.
  • Strong computer skills; proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

 

Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills:

  • Prefer proficiency in PowerBI, JUMP, and Minitab.
