Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Purpose of Position:
Maximize the sale of Corning Optical Communications (COC) products within the Northwest Territory (WA, OR, AK, ID) to grow the business and ensure success of the company.  Develop and execute a territory sales plan focused on delivering network solutions that leverage Corning’s comprehensive capabilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:
• Meet or exceed sales budgets for all telecommunications products assigned
• Develop and execute written territory and/or account plans
• Generate new business and maintain existing customer account base
• Ensure a balanced mix of sales calls to end users, distributors, contractors, and consultants, as appropriate, and provide ongoing training with these customer segments
• Diligent in documenting activities and reporting results (Salesforce.com)

Required Qualifications:

• B.S. or B.A. degree desired; technical discipline preferred
• 2+ years of sales, marketing, product management or engineering experience

• Consultative Communication: Solution selling with the ability to concisly communicate with internal satekeholders and external customers

• Organizational Agility: Builds relationships and works effectively within an organization
• Industry product knowledge preferred

Desired Qualifications:
• Leverages broad knowledge of our products, solutions and value proposition
• Understands how Corning’s solutions provide value to the customer
• Independent computer skills with Microsoft Office & Outlook, Salesforce.com
• Ability to express ideas in writing with clarity and brevity
• Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously

 

Other Requirements:
• Valid driver’s license
• Travel required up to 75%
• Work independently & virtually from a home-based office located in the Northwest Territory in WA, OR, or ID.

The range for this position is $77,145.00 - $106,075.00 plus an attractive variable compensation package, assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
