The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

 

SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION:

 

IT Hardware Asset Analyst will identify, record, maintain, monitor, audit, and dispose of Global Infrastructure assets. This role is required to work on-site in the Corning Valley.

 

  • Analyst will control all infrastructure physical devices including all global network devices and compute & end user devices as requested, in inventory in Corning Valley.
  • Analyst will receive & ship inventory as required to Corning site locations.
  • Analyst will dispose of inventory as required and will follow all electronic disposal policies.
  • Analyst will participate in physical inventory audits with Infrastructure service lines and Finance.
  • Analyst will be responsible for inventory data in ServiceNOW CMDB.
  • Analyst will be responsible for all related documentation.

 

This role will participate in cross platform projects and operational initiatives relating to services associated to infrastructure assets and configuration management processes.

 

  • Lead RF tagging of physical assets as need identified.
  • Assist with inventory data quality initiatives to improve accuracy and completeness of inventory data across multiple It systems/tools.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Track all SP-ZV shipments of Infrastructure devices to/from Corning sites.
    • Facilitate shipping of network hardware to sites.
    • Includes hardware that has been returned from sites.
  • Maintain ServiceNow CMDB records for new, returned, and disposed hardware.  Ensure appropriate updates are made to the asset management system.
  • Efficiently and effectively reconcile inventory data across multiple IT systems/tools.
  • Perform data collection and analysis of all global technology - hardware throughout the enterprise to identify, analyze and recommend changes to hardware purchases, inventories, reporting including decommissioning and asset recovery to mitigated associated risks.
  • Assist engineers - such as submitting tickets (RDP access for testing computers/ Phone setups for testing purposes.). Gather any info needed for reports – such as Wireless access point reports.
  • Create and maintain site documentation and validation workbooks – info required for implementation of project – as appropriate.
  • Recommend cost reduction opportunities; remove maintenance on inventory that is being disposed of in a timely manner.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or Associates degree plus direct asset management experience

 

WORK EXPERIENCE:

 

  • 3-5 years of ITAM/asset lifecycle management experience
  • 2-4 years of Infrastructure & Networking experience
  • Experience with ServiceNow, CMDB.  ITIL/ITAM or related certification a plus

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

 

  • Understanding of core IT network infrastructure and data center verbiage
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Able to change and adjust smoothly as the situation demands
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work effectively in team environment
  • Ensure quality, timeliness, and results meet expectations
  • Proficient with M365 tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

The range for this position is  $61,362.00   -  $84,373.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
