Scope of Position:

As our Controls Engineer, you will design, develop and implement process controls solutions for manufacturing processes with a focus on process improvement. You will support and provide technical guidance to our multidisciplinary project teams as well as troubleshoot electrical and controls issues impacting equipment availability and product quality. We will ask you to maintain and update documentation including drawings, machine specifications and standards.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with experienced engineers and professionals to design, develop and implement process controls solutions for manufacturing processes.
  • Solve manufacturing processes issues
  • Maintain and develop documentation for equipment and control systems.
  • Facilitate the transfer of new process control technologies into manufacturing
  • Project receivership for electrical and controls
  • Develop deep process and equipment understanding
  • Maintains records as required. (Project Plans, schematics, drawings, spare parts, calibration logs, repair logs, etc.)
  • Participate in controls on call rotation
  • Observes all safety rules and OSHA regulations and performs job in a safe manner
  • Follows standard operating procedures (SOP, WI, Forms, Flowcharts, etc.)
  • Maintains good housekeeping and 5S


Travel Requirement: We anticipate minimal


Work Schedule:

  • Typically 8-5; M-F
  • On-call rotation to support manufacturing environment


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or other engineering subject area with relevant experience
  • 4+ years of experience in Controls Engineering


Required Skills:

  • Strong inclination toward Machine/Process Control and Automation
  • Experience with PLCs, preferably Allen Bradley’s Logix Family
  • Experience programming in RSLogix 5/500/5000
  • Experience developing HMIs (FactoryTalk View / PanelView)
  • Experience troubleshooting Electrical Circuits and Instrumentation
  • Proficiency with Schematics and Wiring Diagrams


Desired Skills:

  • Ability to Program Ladder Logic
  • Database experience (SQL)
  • Electrical design skills
  • Experience with FANUC Robots
  • Knowledge of OSI PI or RSLinx (or other OPC services)
  • Project management
