Scope of Position

This internship position will offer a highly motivated, technically curious, self-starter the opportunity to participate in a team to complete an advanced automation controls training platform.  This role will contribute to the setup, programming and documentation of the Digital Factory Lab training platform.

Key Tasks

  • Maintenance and organization of the lab space.
  • Coordinate with leadership for the various stage gates of the project.
  • Teamwork to accomplish objectives.
  • Mechanical assembly of the lab bench.
  • Wiring of the associated equipment to the controls and sensors.
  • Design and 3D printing of sensor brackets, etc.
  • Learning the safe/proper use of the robots and conveyors.
  • Participation in the design and programming of the control systems.
  • Participation in demonstrations and presentations of the project to Leadership.
  • Continuous documentation describing the outcome of projects/experiments.
  • Participation in the development of new training materials and course outlines which leverage the training platform.
  • Final presentation at the conclusion of the internship.

  • Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2025) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later

Education:

  • Minimum of 2+ years working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, preferably Electrical Engineering and Computer Science/Engineering

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
