Role Purpose

The Diesel Plant Financial Analyst will assist the Plant Controller and Assistant Plant Controller (APC) with the monthly financial statement close, analyzing actual results, preparing business forecasts and long-term financial plans, analyzing and seeking approval for capital investments, working with plant personnel to identify and quantify cost reduction opportunities, maintaining plant cost accounting systems, supporting tax and SEC filings, and ensuring compliance to Sarbanes Oxley and GAAP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update plant internal control documentation including RCM’s, Narratives, significant spreadsheets and key report control form, segregation of duties, maintain annual waivers, and review system access.
  • Perform duties for month end financial statement close including journal entries and variance analysis.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain monthly account reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Perform Inventory reconciliations.
  • Manage Project Costing and Asset Management transactions within the plant.
  • Assist Plant Controller and Assistant Plant Controller with annual plant budget process and forecasts.
  • Assist and support plant management to enhance their understanding of plant spending.
  • Ad hoc financial analysis in support of plant operations
  • Other functions and projects as assigned in support of plant and company operations.

 

Experiences/Education - Required

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3 – 5 years of progressive industry experience
  • GAAP and cost accounting
  • Analytical skills
  • Strong computer and system skills
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, process-oriented and organized
  • Has capacity and aspires to become a plant controller

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal; Less than 10%

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • 40 hours/wk plus overtime as required to accomplish objectives

  • Cost modeling
  • Inventory control and management
  • Manufacturing/Six Sigma background

The range for this position is $60,410.00 - $83,065.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
