Role Purpose

Corning Environmental Technologies is seeking a Forming Process Engineer to join its Diesel Manufacturing Plant. In this role, you'll apply hands-on process engineering expertise to drive continuous improvement, reduce manufacturing variability, and support new product introductions — making a direct impact on product quality and operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support continuous improvement, defect reduction, and variability reduction projects using Designed Experiments (DOE) and Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control (DMAIC) methodology
  • Diagnose and resolve manufacturing process, material, and equipment issues through rigorous root cause analysis and corrective action implementation
  • Support new product introductions through equipment installation, process certification, documentation, and operator training
  • Apply statistical analysis and data-driven methods to build technical understanding of key forming process steps and improve repeatability
  • Build subject matter expertise in assigned forming process areas and execute cost reduction projects aligned with business goals

 

Required Experience & Education

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Materials, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering or technical degree
  • 2+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience applying root cause analysis and process problem-solving in a manufacturing setting
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, including Microsoft Excel (formulas and graphing)

 

Desired Experience & Education

  • Exposure to Lean and Six Sigma principles; Six Sigma Green Belt training a plus
  • Demonstrated technical expertise in process improvement, measurement, characterization, or ceramics processing
  • Prior experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Technical competence in materials or ceramic process engineering

The range for this position is $84,932.00 - $116,782.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
