Role Purpose
The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Analyst, under the guidance of the GSOC Operations Supervisor, is responsible for monitoring the security of Corning’s employees, facilities, and property worldwide. The purpose of this position is to detect, analyze and appropriately respond to all threats to the corporation and its employees; these threats may include extreme weather conditions, political instability, crime, terror, infrastructure failures, life safety system alarms, access control alarms, and more.
Key Responsibilities
Professionally represent Corning Incorporated and the Global Security Division by performing duties including, but not limited to:
- Communicating directly with Corning employees around the world as a primary first-contact/first-report for all questions and concerns pertaining to security
- Global monitoring of company assets, including alarm response with dispatch of emergency and/or security services
- Gathering security and threat information from multiple open-source intelligence services using a variety of web-based and in-house tools
- Conducting risk analysis and aiding with proactive guidance to travelers, expatiates, facility management, and other stakeholders
- Compiling situational and after-action reports for both security and company management
- Providing as-needed support for various security operations, crisis response and business continuity functions
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree (Business, Political Science, International Relations, or other related disciplines)
- Or Associate degree with 2+ years’ experience in a related field
- Candidates with diverse educational backgrounds who can bring unique perspectives and skills to the position are encouraged to apply
- Must maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Flexibility to work all shifts including schedule holidays and have a willingness to occasionally work outside of normally scheduled hours when needed to maintain operational continuity
- Strong team player with a professional interpersonal style
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to adapt and cater to the unique needs of various customers
- Aptitude for clear and effective writing under time-sensitive conditions
- Personable telephone and face-to-face verbal communication skills, including experience clarifying information in a friendly and positive manner
- Ability to establish priorities, multitask, work independently, and complete objectives in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
- Sound operational judgment and a curiosity to learn about the company and its security needs
- Comfortable in a high-tech work environment, with constant learning of new tools and processes
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Outlook
Notes on Schedule
The schedule consists of 4-week rotations of 11pm-7am, 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, with every other weekend scheduled off. This schedule is set for the entire year, with shift swaps available. Due to the 24/7/365 coverage requirements on the GSOC operations, analysts are required to work schedule holidays, and there is an occasional requirement to work outside of normally scheduled hours to maintain operational continuity. Unscheduled hours for coverage and holidays worked will be returned wherever possible to analysts through compensatory time and shift swaps.

The range for this position is $60,410.00 - $83,065.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
