The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.

Role Purpose

In partnership with the Plant HR Manager, this role ensures that the facility is staffed with the right number and type of talent necessary to execute plant strategy and achieve targeted business results. The role supports the cultivation of a positive work environment, fostering a unified “One Corning” culture consistent with company values while further contributing to the achievement of budgetary objectives by supporting top quartile performance while maintaining high standards of HR. This role assists in the effective implementation of global HR business processes within the plant and ensures full compliance with all HR-related legal and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an HR Business Partner supporting manufacturing teams in compensation, engagement, relations, learning and development, compliance, analytics, performance management, and staffing.
  • Provide coaching, counsel, and analytics to help leaders make sound talent decisions and foster positive employee relations.
  • Drive talent management programs to enhance leadership, succession planning, and high-potential development, aligning with business strategy.
  • Resolve employee relations issues fairly to maintain effective plant operations.
  • Coach plant management on leadership practices to promote a positive work environment.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development to ensure a positive onboarding experience.
  • Identify and address issues with root cause solutions to enhance engagement and results.
  • Lead or participate in HR and cross-functional projects as assigned.
  • Streamline HR processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Build strong relationships with management and employees to provide guidance on organizational matters.
  • Promote professionalism, interpersonal relationships, and Corning’s core values.
  • Address turnover by identifying value proposition issues and working on solutions with HR leadership.
  • Maintain a plant-floor presence to monitor organizational health.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior experience. Graduate Degree and a +2 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience working as an HR Business Partner with increasing scope and responsibility, supporting various levels within the organization, preferably within a matrix and manufacturing environment
  • Experience with Team Facilitation, Performance Management, Employee Relations, Workforce Planning, Compensation, and Organizational Development
  • Experience with labor relations and working in a union environment
  • Demonstrated experiences with strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively influence, coach, and consult employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly adaptable and able to succeed in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Experience with root cause analysis with ability to link situations and decisions to the bigger picture.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team environment as well as operate independently.
  • Possesses a high degree of professional integrity and confidentiality with an eye for attention to detail.

The range for this position is $79,519.00 - $109,339.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
