The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Role Purpose
The IT Analyst partners with plant leadership and functional teams to deliver stable, secure, and high-performing IT capabilities that enable manufacturing execution and business outcomes at the Erwin Manufacturing Complex. This role supports plant operational continuity in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, provides hands-on troubleshooting and service restoration, and contributes to site and division initiatives that improve user experience, system reliability, cybersecurity posture, and value delivery aligned to plant and CET BEIT priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide onsite IT support for plant users, including desktop/laptop, printers, mobile devices, conferencing, and basic collaboration tools
- Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve incidents and requests; escalate appropriately and manage issues through to closure including root cause analysis
- Support manufacturing-facing systems and connectivity (e.g., shop floor workstations, label/print stations, scanners) in coordination with OT/controls and central IT teams
- Monitor and improve local IT service health (repeat incidents, chronic failures, asset gaps) and implement fixes that reduce downtime
- Maintain asset and configuration accuracy (inventories, standard builds, documentation, spare strategy)
- Participate in site projects such as line expansions, workstation standardization, and system refreshes; coordinate vendor support when needed
- Follow cybersecurity, safety, and change management practices; ensure work is performed with integrity and appropriate approvals
- Communicate clearly with operators, supervisors, engineers, and office staff—setting expectations and providing status updates
- Partner effectively across teams (BEIT, Corp D&IT, plant engineering, controls/automation, vendors) to deliver stable outcomes
- Experience working in a ticketing system and following incident/request/change processes
- Ability to work onsite in a plant environment and follow safety requirements
Experiences/Education - Required
- 0-2 years of IT support experience in a manufacturing, operations, or multi-site environment (or equivalent demonstrated capability)
- Hands-on troubleshooting skills across software, data, Windows endpoints, hardware/peripherals, and common productivity tools
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field (or equivalent experience)
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Exposure to OT/plant environments (MES, SCADA/HMI, shop floor devices) and working alongside controls/automation teams
- Data skills (SQL, reporting/analytics) to support troubleshooting and continuous improvement.
- Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP fundamentals, VLAN concepts, wireless troubleshooting)
- Familiarity with enterprise tools such as ServiceNow, Active Directory/Azure AD, Microsoft 365, SCCM/Intune, Kairos, endpoint security tooling
- ITIL foundations or similar service management training
Work Conditiona & Schedule
- Onsite plant support with time spent on the manufacturing floor as needed
- Schedule: Day shift + 24x7 coverage
- On-call with local BEIT team rotation, approximately 1 week / 2 months
- Travel: Minimal, Occasional travel to nearby sites

The range for this position is $63,300.00 - $87,038.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
