The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.



Scope of Position: In this position the intern will work with the Information Security Architects where they will gain exposure how to perform assessments of vendor solutions for both software and hardware. Identifying items that may provide a risk to the organization and strategic thinking in developing solutions for risk reduction. They will receive mentorship and guidance to policies, standards and regulatory requirements in a global organization.



  • Perform assessments of both on-premise and cloud-based solutions.
  • Assist with reviews to validate compliance or identify items that do not adhere to organizational standards.
  • Assist in the development and updating of documentation.
  • Assist in the review of ad-hoc requests.


Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled in CIS, Cybersecurity program
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Relevant experience a plus


Required Skills:

  • Core understanding of computer networking concepts and technology.
  • Detail oriented and thorough.
  • Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal).
  • Willingness to learn and acquire new skills.
  • Capable of multi-tasking


Hours of work:  Basic work hours are 40hrs/week; 8am-5pm
