The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

As a member of the Process Strategy and Adoption team, the Senior Analyst Process Training and Documentation will work closely with cross-functional Global/Regional teams to develop the learning and user documentation systems and other appropriate training mediums e.g. on-site, e-learning. He/she will also support the design of dynamic learning materials and conduct employee training assessments as a part of deployment activities. A key aspect of this role will be to serve as an integral member of the ERP Change Management team, and an enthusiastic Change Champion for the ERP roll out throughout the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently (and with subject matter experts) to understand Corning’s business processes and functional roles, as they relate to ERP and other business applications, in the future.
  • Take a lead role in the facilitation of the learning delivery system. As Master Author, you are responsible for helping to define how information will be organized, manage the content environment and coordinate with authors from businesses who are using the system.
  • Contribute to the change management strategies needed for introduction and adoption of introduced tools, taking a data-driven approach e.g. pre / post training assessment
  • Develop appropriate documentation system within the transformation program to provide system users with visibility to key process decisions and data guidelines.
  • Understand and coordinate business facing documentation elements across different aspects of a complex IT systems project. Developing the documentation library may mean sourcing existing documentation from past projects and updating to reflect Global Template Standards.
  • Help to define the relationship between Global Template documentation and the playbook (implementation) team delivery requirements and IT documentation systems in general.
  • Actively participate in the pilot evaluation of the currently proposed learning delivery system and the development of the objectives and alternatives to be decided at the conclusion of the pilot.
  • Help to co-ordinate the closing of any gaps related to the content available for user training within the scope of the ERP transformation program.
  • Define and manage the portfolio of learning tools that support Global ERP delivery
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Learning and Development organization as necessary to leverage Learning Management Systems (SAP Success Factors and other solutions) for delivery and tracking of Learning plans for users.


Education and Experience:

  • Minimum BS Degree in technical field (preferred) with appropriate experience in Quality Systems and/or Learning Development
  • 5+ years of experience in Training systems, Quality Systems and/or Project Management
  • Effective project management skills; experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong writing and training materials development skills, especially for global audiences Qualifications

  • Keen attention to detail and data driven problem-solving skills.
  • Organized; ability to prioritize and manage multiple activities with different teams
  • Flexibility; ability to work in a dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (EXCEL, PowerPoint, Word) Preferred Additional Experience
  • Experience with SAP ECC / S4 implementations / deployments
  • Proficiency with using SharePoint or other content management systems.
  • Experience with SAP Enable now or similar learning acceleration tools.
