Purpose of the Position:

 

The Data and Analytics Architect will translate business and service line requirements into practical IT service architectures that meet business partner needs and are fully aligned with enterprise architecture guidelines.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • As Data and Analytics Architect, you will lead initiatives to develop and manage processes to gather and analyze data to help businesses gain valuable insights and influence decision-making. Duties include data mining and management, developing and implementing analytics solutions, and generating reports to improve business performance and achieve objectives.
  • The Data and Analytics Architect will work closely with business leaders across supply chain, financial planning, accounting, tax and regulatory, and will translate business needs into high quality analytics solutions and machine learning models.
  • Build data architecture for supply chain and financial modeling using analytics engines
  • Build data visualization, dashboards, workbooks, planning simulations using Power BI, Tableau, or SAP Analytics Cloud or other analytics tools (as applicable)
  • Lead cross-functional projects using advanced data modeling and analysis techniques to discover insights that will guide strategic decisions and uncover optimization opportunities
  • Oversee the design and delivery of data models, operational reports, dashboards and performance metrics that support key business decisions
  • Anticipate future demands of initiatives related to people, technology, and business within corporate functions and design/implement solutions to meet these needs
  • Serve as a strong advocate to expand analytical capabilities across the organization
  •  Explore industry leading BI solutions, BI tools, and Machine Learning methodologies to create deep insights that serve as a competitive differentiator
  • Collaborate with Service Lines, Enterprise Architects and Business Engagement to translate business requirements and IT enterprise architecture into well-defined technical solutions/requirements
  • This position will understand the desired future state technical architecture and will help to define the approach to closing gaps to reach it in order to scale the business and/or reduce costs
  • Leveraging their technical expertise to recommend when, and how technology could, or should impact timing, or sequencing of roadmaps.
  • Providing expert input into the design related to strategic initiatives to ensure efficiency, and scalability. This will focus on the technology being used, and approaches to development and integration
  • Participating in the evaluation, selection, and governance of new technology additions, or major changes in use. Create, maintain, and oversee the appropriate artifact libraries required for documentation and consistency
  • Identifying opportunities to reduce, or prevent technology spend and complexity
  • Identifying opportunities where new technology could provide meaningful benefit to the organization whether consumer facing, or for internal operational benefit
  • Create and maintain solutions roadmaps for use in defining and shaping Service Line strategies
  • Identify and recommend data and analytics architecture that effectively meets business needs, risk/regulatory compliance requirements and fully supports Service Line and IT function strategy
  • Provide directionally accurate cost estimates for use in business case development
  • Assist with the development and encourage the adoption of reference architectures and reusable patterns to facilitate the standardization of solution design, deployment, and risk/compliance
  • Challenge status-quo and think out of the box to device innovative solutions for SC problems.
  • Coach/mentor members of IT as necessary. Align with and influence teams to grow/enterprise architecture skills and perspective
  • Troubleshooting: investigate, analyze, and solve problems
  • Maintain relationships with key vendors to understand the market trends and direction of associated technologies

 

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering discipline, Business, IT management, computer science, computer engineering, or management information systems with five years relevant experience.
  • SAP Functional Certifications and/or Experience
  • 10 years of IT or equivalent business/industry work experience in a relevant subject area.
  • Experience with RFID Technology
  • Experience with Packaging and Labeling Standards and Applications

 

Required Skills

  • Experience solving complex business challenges by identifying and leveraging technology as part of the solution.
  • Experience / Working Knowledge of the following:
    • Complex S4 HANA ERP MM&SD and extensibilities like SAP Business Network/LBN/IBP/GTS, including other edge applications
    • Data Platforms like SAP MDG, Kairos
    • RFID Technology
    • Sustainability and Traceability Platforms
    • Logistics Networks
    • Transportation Management Systems
    • Packaging and Labeling Standards and Applications
    • Integration approaches and methodologies
  • Deep understanding of various business data domains (e.g. Sales, Supply Chain, Planning, Manufacturing)
  • Extensive experience in working on large scale, mission critical deployment projects
  • Strong communication and engagement skills
  • Leading and managing change
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with Business and IT management on business matters blending technical and non-technical perspectives and discuss complex concepts in simple terms.
  • Significant experience in achieving positive results among staff at all levels of the organization through demonstrated ability in developing consultative relationships.
  • Demonstrated success working collaboratively with individuals and teams across the company, specifically executives and key stakeholders, utilizing influence, persuasion, leadership, negotiation, and group facilitation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to grasp big picture with ability to transfer business requirements to solution design.
  • Strongly Self-motivated and guided.
  • Experience in implementation projects as well as in support
  • Deep understanding of the processes supported by SAP considered best practices
  • Solid technical background: Ability to understand complex SAP programs, to use SAP tools
  • Strategic agility and managing ambiguous conditions
  • Demonstrate passion for success to complete required tasks while maintaining a positive attitude.

 

Travel: Ability to accommodate travel up to 25%.
