The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Scope of Position: Project Technical Leader for the Data, Information, and Analytics (DIA) DevOps Team.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Leads team of Developers
    • Manages Developers across multiple projects
    • Assigns tasks to Developers
    • Ensures Developers are effectively managing their time and delivering project deliverables in a timely manner
    • Works closely with DIA DevOps Manager to ensure projects are appropriately staffed
  • Work closely with customers
    • Assist in gathering customer requirements that can be translated into a project’s statement of work (SOW)
    • Creates project estimates based off customer requirements
    • Acts as a liaison between IT and customers – ability to translate technical details to customer
  • Develops technical solutions  
    • Ensures the appropriate technology is utilized in order to meet deliverables
    • Work closely with Solution Architects to ensure appropriate technology utilization
  •  Ensures projects are meeting deliverables as defined by the SOW
    • Creates High Level Design (HLD) and Low Level Design (LLD) documents
    • Attends project status meetings
    • Schedules HLD/LLD reviews o Ensures Developers are following LLD
    • Works closely with Project Managers and DIA DevOps Manager to ensure projects are on schedule
  • Ensures proper handoff to DIA DevOps Team
    • Ensuring Service Now Change Request filled out properly
    • Ensure all KT documentation completed
    • Initiate KT sessions with DIA DevOps Team
    • Tracking change after migration

Education Requirements: BS degree required

Work Experience: 5-10 years of relevant work experience.

Required Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with development in Microsoft BI tools (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server), particularly V2016
  • Experience using Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) for source control
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts
  • Process oriented / Process improvement skillset
  • Strong critical thinking
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage ambiguity effectively and deliver results
  • Attention to details
  • Dynamic, self-motivated work structure
  • Works well independently and within a team setting

  • Experience with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes

  • Experience using Microsoft Power BI
