Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):

• Provide operational support for daily data loss prevention monitoring and analysis.

• Support information security programs and activities for S&T division; including global information security initiatives.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Daily data loss prevention monitoring, analysis and follow-up

• Activities involve interaction with, and exposure to, information of significant importance to the organization and may be highly restricted which demands a high level of trust

• Significant internal customer interaction; highly technical scientists, engineers, technicians, and project teams

• Information security awareness training materials development and deployment; online, in-person, large groups

• Leverage multiple communication methods to engage workforce understanding of information security procedures and provide support as needed

 

Travel Requirements (please note if international): Possible travel (domestic and international) for training and auditing purposes (<10%).

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 40+ (possible work outside of normal business hours due to incident response, analysis and resolution)

 

Education and Experience (minimum required for consideration)

• Bachelor’s degree (technical): cybersecurity/ computer engineering / computer science preferred

• 2-4 years work experience in cyber security or information security or other related information technology

• Citizenship status must allow exposure to US export controlled technical data

• Analytical mindset; data analysis experience

• Ability to multitask and deal calmly with multiple priorities

• Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills

• Ability to be discrete while handling proprietary and personal data

• Knowledge of Corning businesses preferred

• High skill level with DLP monitoring and analysis tools

• Experience with web-based tools and interfaces

 

Desired Skills (These are skills that would be nice for candidates to possess)

• Experience in an R&D environment

• Security experience

• Experience with data loss prevention tools and/or information systems

• SharePoint experience

• Training development and deployment

 

Soft Skills (Communication/Team/Leadership)

• Excellent communications skills (both written and verbal)

• Excellent interaction skills with highly technical employees

• Ability to manage multiple priorities

• Limited supervision required, self-starting, and well-proven track record of interactions and engagement with others to achieve goals and solve problems

• Willingness to learn and acquire new skills
