Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.
Role Purpose
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert in fabrication, designing and fabricating custom items for quick repairs using CAD.
- This role is pivotal in maintaining the efficiency and functionality of our facility and equipment.
- The Maintenance Tech will be a key asset in ensuring the smooth operation of our maintenance department and supporting various teams across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a fabrication expert, designing and creating custom items for quick repairs using CAD.
- Advise and plan for mechanical issues, focusing on Axial and Forming equipment.
- Manage parts and tools supply, and establish cost-effective vendor relationships.
- Maintain equipment and guarding standards, including designing and fabricating machine guarding.
- Train maintenance employees on safe equipment operation.
- Provide 24/7 emergency breakdown support and assist in project support and production start-up.
- Manage consumables in the fab shop, electrical cage, and rebuild shop.
- Maintain the 5S program for cleanliness and organization.
- Collaborate with the storeroom to manage and restock consumables.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Proven experience in fabrication, equipment maintenance, and supply management.
- Strong expertise in mechanical systems, with a focus on Axial and Forming equipment.
- Proficiency in CAD software for designing custom items.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to provide effective solutions in high-pressure situations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members and external vendors.
- Availability for weekend rotations and willingness to provide emergency support when required.

US Salaried:
The range for this position is $58,585.00 - $80,555.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
US Union Free Hourly:
The range for this position is $58,585.00 hourly rate - $73,231.00 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
US Union Hourly:
The starting pay for this position is $58,585.00 hourly rate. Compensation and benefits available for this position are dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
US Intern:
The range for this position is $58,585.00 - $80,555.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
