The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.
Role Purpose
We are seeking a Manufacturing Data Analyst. The candidate should establish strong, trustworthy relationships with business project teams, business engagement IT peers and Corporate IT teams to ensure successful implementation of critical digital initiatives and standardization throughout the division. The candidate should have a passion for problem solving and delivering quality work that exceeds customer expectations in the allotted timeframe and demonstrate strong leadership qualities. It is imperative to be a self-motivated team player with an attention to detail who can manage and prioritize multiple tasks and thrive in a multi-functional team environment.
This role will be a part of a larger division team to continue to deliver, grow and enhance digital systems for CET.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with cross-functionally, especially with the Manufacturing Strategy and Division IT Team to ensure data, reporting and analytics business requirements are being delivered in support of the unprecedented growth in CET and consistent with guidelines around Cost, Capacity, Capability and Culture.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing plants, division engineering and manufacturing strategy teams for the identification and consolidation of key production metrics at the division level through a consolidated data warehousing structure (Engineering Information System - EIS)
- Work with Division and Plant IT to deliver consolidated key production data to the division level through EIS
- Lead and coordinate the delivery of data to optimally meet the needs of cross-functional teams for reporting, dashboarding and analytics
- Become the PowerBI - Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Manufacturing Strategy team (and potentially CET Division) for the development of key Division level Production Metrics dashboards
- This is an enabling role to support the data, reporting and analytics requirements of the CET Manufacturing & Engineering teams
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor's Degree
- In-depth knowledge of relational databases and best practices (indexing, data file, file group strategies, etc.)
- SQL Server experience, specifically TSQL, stored procedures, table/view design, and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) package development.
- Data visualization tools such as SQLServer Reporting Services (SSRS) and/or PowerBI
- .NET developer (ASP.NET and VB.NET and/or C#.NET)
- High attention to detail and troubleshooting skills
- Thorough at creating technical documentation for systems/solutions he/she develops.
- Experience or working knowledge of cloud based “big data” solutions such as AWS, Azure, Databricks, Delta Lake, etc.
Desired & Soft Skills
- In-depth knowledge of industry best practices in application development
- Experience working with IT systems in a 24/7 manufacturing environment, especially in understanding Bill of Materials, Product Routings, OEE such as Quality, Availability and Performance Factors.
- IIS knowledge/experience
- In-depth knowledge of source code management systems such as Team Foundation Services (TFS)
- Ability to work without close supervision
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural team
- Ability to work closely with internal customers around the world to meet customer requirements
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team to execute projects on time, on budget, and with expected results
- Strong verbal and written communication skills

The range for this position is $89,748.00 - $123,404.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
