Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.
Position Purpose
The Manufacturing Supervisor – Team Leader is responsible for leading activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives. Provides immediate supervision to a unit or group of employees, assigning tasks, and checking work at frequent intervals. Directs subordinates to achieve assignments using established guidelines, procedures, and policies. Generally, this role supervises semi-skilled employees. This position implements quality control processes and standards, ensuring the manufactured products meet the set specifications and quality standards. Additionally implements continuous improvement strategies to optimize manufacturing processes. Identifying and solving production issues, making necessary adjustments to processes and machinery through team members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technical discipline or 2 years of supervisory experience in 24/7 plant operations facility
- Follow-up and documentation skills a must
- Ability to grasp technical details and understand impacts of the process and requirements for successful performance/quality organization
- Ceramic knowledge
- Candidate expected to work swing shift for the current 24/5 plant operation. 24/7 plant operations schedule possible
- 40-50 hr./wk.; off hour support if necessary and vacation coverage

- 2 years of manufacturing and/or leadership experience preferred

Responsibilities
- Ensuring safety regulations are followed at all times, maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- Keeping accurate records and reporting production data, issues, progress, and results to upper management
- These activities often include productivity and efficiency activities
- Executes production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply
- Coordinating the production schedule to meet goals while maintaining quality control
- Providing training for team members to improve their skills and ensure understanding of safety and production procedures
- Monitoring team performance, providing feedback, and implementing measures for improvement

The range for this position is $61,849.00 - $85,043.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
