Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.
Role Purpose
Provide leadership for masonry and maintenance operations supporting plant production. This role is responsible for supervising a team of masons and maintenance resources, coordinating work execution, and driving safety, quality, and productivity outcomes aligned with plant objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of masons and maintenance personnel; assign work, monitor performance, and ensure appropriate staffing and skill coverage.
- Oversee day-to-day masonry and maintenance activities, including work order management from initiation through closeout.
- Partner with engineering, operations, EHS, Project Logistics Group, and plant customers to prioritize work and resolve issues.
- Ensure completion of operator-level and planned maintenance activities to protect asset reliability.
- Champion a strong safety culture, ensure adherence to procedures, and conduct inspections.
- Oversee refractory masonry work including installation, repair, demolition, and material preparation.
- Oversee box/crate building work orders including build timing, drawing understanding, and execution to schedule
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer concerns and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Track labor hours, costs, and work execution performance; maintain accurate documentation and updates.
- Manage refractory materials, maintenance supplies, and waste disposal processes.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 3+ years of manufacturing, leadership, or related experience.
- Experience in a supervisory or team leadership role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong working knowledge of masonry/refractory operations and/or industrial maintenance practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead union or hourly workforces and coordinate daily operations.
- Strong problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and operations teams.
- Demonstrates flexibility and prioritization in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across teams.
- Challenges existing processes constructively to drive improvement.
- Takes ownership of results and follows through on commitments.
- Anticipates issues and acts proactively to resolve them.
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Journeyman Mason or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience with work order systems or maintenance tracking systems.
- Knowledge of fabrication and ability to read detailed drawings
- Familiarity with plant safety, quality, and continuous improvement systems.

The range for this position is $82,473.00 - $113,401.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
