Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Scope of Position

Projects involved with:  Projects assigned as required by department supervisor.  Analyzes and demonstrates process improvements.  Recommends and implements changes in methods or procedures.  Understands practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered.  Independently solves problems by examining pertinent facts.  Works effectively with all levels of the organization.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Setting up and closing out work orders in the Inventory System
  • Make daily inventory entries as inventory moves in and out of different manufacturing areas
  • Interfaces with other Corning Plants and external customers, including export, with timely shipment
  • Properly account for and track inventory returned from Corning locations to ensure proper disposition of inventory and credits are applied
  • Take in shipments from vendors and plant locations. Must verify weights and make entries into inventory system
  • With other material coordinators, perform a monthly inventory count and reconciliation
  • All of these duties include lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Maintain integrity of the Inventory System and make necessary updates to data tables
  • Perform slow moving inventory review twice a year
  • Maintain Inventory System access authorization list

Required Education and Experience

  • AAS preferred
  • 5 + years in a similar discipline
  • Must be willing to travel domestically or internationally as required (<10%)
  • Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:  6:00 am to 3:00 pm with weekly call in for shipments alternated with other Material Control Coordinators
  • Highest level of integrity with controls in mind
  • Strong computer skills – must be proficient with spreadsheets (Excel) & PowerPoint
  • Experience with inventory system, SharePoint or other manufacture systems preferred
  • Rigorous and attention to details; having minimal tolerance for mistakes or lack of precision
  • Strong Organizational Skills, must be able to multi-task and prioritize
  • Strong Analytical and follow up skills
  • Be able to work in a very fast paced environment with changing requirements and emergencies
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis

Desired Skills

  • Inventory supply chain experience
  • Manufacturing experience, particularly storeroom, warehouse, shipping and receiving, and material coordination and logistics
  • Project leadership experience
  • Finance or accounting experience

The range for this position is  $47,690.00   -  $65,574.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
