Position Purpose

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to serve as the Systems Operational Lead for our Maximo system, supporting the on-site Maximo Manager. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of Maximo, IBM's enterprise asset management (EAM) software, which is central to our maintenance, asset tracking, and operational workflows. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, operational excellence, and a collaborative mindset to assist in managing system configurations, troubleshooting, and user support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum 3+ years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong familiarity with asset management, maintenance planning, and operational workflows
  • Subject Matter Expert and/or superuser in Maximo or any computerized maintenance management system CMMS
  • Strong business communications in a multi-stakeholder environment, especially regarding consultation with users to understand needs, define requirements, and provide effective solutions
  • Familiarity with application of Industry 4.0 technologies, IoT, or predictive maintenance concepts

Desired

  • Proficiency in Maximo system configuration, troubleshooting, and report generation
  • Knowledge of SQL databases, integrations, and data management principles
  • Experience with analytics tools and dashboards within Maximo
  • Data Historian visualization and data processing tools; OSI PI platform is preferred
  • Accurate and timely communication of statuses risks to stakeholders
  • Ability to interact with individuals from various cultural backgrounds, regions, and levels in the organization
  • Experience with general data manipulation/automation with Maximo or database extract/translate/load tools

Responsibilities

  • Platform Monitoring: Continuously monitor the Maximo system, including servers, containerized pods and integrations to ensure optimal performance, uptime, and data integrity.  Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures related to Maximo operations. 
  • Troubleshooting: Identify, investigate, and resolve operational issues in Maximo promptly to minimize disruptions.  Collaborate with IT teams to escalate and resolve technical issues that require advanced support.
  • User Support: Provide hands-on support to end-users, assisting with system navigation, troubleshooting errors, and resolving queries.  Act as the primary liaison between the Maximo on-site Manager and operational stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and coordination.  Apply sensitivity regarding obtaining or providing information on matters of moderate importance to the organization and may be of a sensitive nature.
  • Data Management: Oversee data entry, validation, governance, and ensure data accuracy within the Maximo system, including asset records, work orders, inventory management, and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Training and Documentation: Develop and maintain user guides, training materials, and system documentation to support Maximo users across the organization.  Along with other Maximo Team members, the position assists with the delivery of training sessions and workshops, with a focus on the enhancement of user proficiency and system utilization. 
  • Reporting and Analysis: Maintain compliance and support of regular operational reports from Maximo to track performance metrics, maintenance schedules, and inventory levels.  Support the Maximo Manager in preparing presentations and reports for leadership teams.  Provide suggestions to improve reporting, dashboards, and analytics tools within Maximo to deliver actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Vendor Management: Act as the primary vendor interface to resolve issues, monitor tickets, and align resources from both IBM and Corning’s Maximo Team.
  • System Updates and Maintenance: Assist the Maximo Manager in planning, testing, and deploying system upgrades, patches, and new features, modules and improvements to workflows.  Identify opportunities for process improvement and system enhancements to maximize efficiency and user adoption (CbM, PDM, etc.).  Conduct periodic audits of the system to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.  Seeks supervisory direction for issues crossing into other functional areas or with broad impacts.  Within the scope of Maximo as an enterprise software solution, candidate will understand potential impacts and participate in design efforts for concurrent Maximo configurations across multiple Corning businesses.

The range for this position is $99,693.00 - $137,078.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
