Corning’s Environmental Technologies segment manufactures ceramic substrates and filter products for emissions control in mobile and stationary applications around the world.
Scope of Position:
- Collaborate with senior engineers and shop floor staff to understand project requirements and design specifications.
- Assist in the design and development of machining fixtures, dies, and equipment using CAD software.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute ideas and solutions to improve design efficiency and quality.
- Create detailed drawings and documentation for manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Support the implementation of design changes and improvements based on feedback from senior engineers and shop floor staff.
- Conduct research and analysis to solve engineering problems and improve existing designs.
- Ensure that all designs comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Assist with other engineering tasks as needed.

Education Required:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
Required Skills:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Time management and ability to prioritize work
- Excellent critical analysis, and logic/reasoning skills.
- Ability to interact with management and team members.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Desired Skills:
- Basic understanding of machining processes and manufacturing principals
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
- Collaboration in a multicultural environment
- Willingness to work with your hands
- Experience with Six Sigma DMAIC or similar principles
- Working knowledge or experience with design of experiments (DOE) concepts

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
