Process Development Engineers

Corning Incorporated seeks Process Development Engineers to work in Painted Post, NY. Lead or support the execution of materials development projects for transfer to manufacturing; develop new processes & technologies to leverage fundamental understanding of underlying principles of solid mechanics, heat transfer, & fluid mechanics; use scientific methods, including analytical tools, numerical simulation, & pilot scale testing; collaborate with highly matrixed & diverse cross-functional teams incl. research, development, engineering, and manufacturing; document results & capture intellectual property. Up to 30% domestic and international travel. Requires master’s degree in Materials, Chemical, or Mechanical engineering, or closely related. Prior experience w/ or academic exposure to: process development for manufacturing; strength of materials; heat transfer and fluid mechanics; thermal and structure analysis; using programming & statistical tools (i.e. MATLAB, LabView) to process & analyze experimental results; conducting process experiments using first principles & modeling tools; and using risk management tools for problem solving (i.e. Manufacturing Engineering Excellence tools, Kepner-Tregoe method).
