Scope of Position: As our intern you will have the opportunity to work in the Research Department of the Microscopy and Surface Analysis team.

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Acquire and analyze SIMS data as directed
  • SIMS measurements of implanted isotopes in thermally grown SiO2 layers
  • Depth measurements
  • Modeling of diffusion phenomena

 

Travel requirements: None.

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. M-F

 

Education / Experience:

  • Student who is currently in their second year or higher of pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD Degree in a Science or Engineering field

 

Required Skills:

  • Coursework in undergraduate Science or Engineering
  • Experience working in a Science Lab
  • Completion of introductory Calculus

 

Desired Skills:

  • Coursework in Chemistry, Physics and/or Materials Engineering
  • Two laboratory courses - one in basic Chemistry
  • Completed or currently completing 2nd year College Mathematics such as Ordinary Differential Equations

 

Soft Skills:

  • Interest in Glass, Geochemistry, Inorganic Materials properties
  • Ambitious to learn new things
