Scope of Position:

This position is responsible for promoting a safe and health work environment. Support the Sullivan Park Environmental Health and Safety and Materials Management team day to day tasks, specifically safety and health processes for all process and laboratory operations onsite. This may include job safety analysis, management of change reviews, industrial hygiene assessments, writing lock-out tag-out procedures, ergonomic assessments, machine guarding assessments and personal protective equipment assessments.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Exercise sound judgment, strong engineering, and technical problem-solving skills as related to safety and health

• Participate in management of change reviews for safety, health and environmental impacts

• Conduct safety and health inspections in the laboratories and process areas

• Develop lockout tagout procedures

• Develop machine guarding assessments

• Develop and audit personal protective equipment assessments

• Present relevant information in various meetings

• Participate in incident investigations

• Develop communications related to safety and health topics


Travel requirements: No travel required.

Hours of work: 40 hours per week. Flexible start and end time


Education and Experience: Current undergraduate or master’s student in safety and health, EHS management, industrial hygiene, engineering, materials science, or related technical field.

• MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint 

• Demonstrates respect and courtesy for others

• Positive professional attitude and willingness to learn

• Can work independently and within a diverse team environment


Desired Skills: 

• Experience with management of change processes
