Sr. Process Engineer

Corning Research & Development Corporation seeks Sr. Process Engineer to work in Painted Post, NY.  

Define mechanical/thermal/optical/electrical requirements for custom machines to support manufacture of optical communications products; create 3D computer aided designs of machines; perform dimensional tolerance & thermal analyses to ensure parts fit & work; write software code to automate mechanical system operation & ensure user interface is streamlined for technicians; coordinate w/ optical & electrical designers to ensure unified designs perform as required; & procure parts, build custom systems, test performance & integrate machines into usage. Up to 10% domestic travel. Req. Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or closely related; and 4 yrs. exp. w/: mechanical system automation & thermal & mechanical system analysis; LabView & programmable logic controllers (PLC); CAD software (i.e. Creo, SolidWorks); process engineering for fiber optic connector assembly; & Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) integration, including Controls & Automation.
