Scope of Position:
Summer 2025 Intern position working independently and in cross functional teams, participates in the design, engineering, procurement, installation, start up, commissioning and handover of mechanical systems such as:
- Batch Delivery Systems
- Melting Systems
- Thermal Process Services
- Thermal Equipment Design
Role within group:

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
On a daily basis the incumbent in this position will be expected to:
- Create or document design basis requirements
- Design mechanical components and assemblies
- Manage project documentation
- Specify or otherwise identify commercially available equipment/system components
Education & Experience:

Minimum of 2+ years working toward a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering. Preference is for students who will have completed their 3rd year of a BS level college engineering program prior to starting the internship and will be graduating within 12 months of finishing the internship.
- Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2025) with a graduation date of December 2025 or later
- Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.

Desired Skills:
- Prior Industrial or Intern experience
- Demonstrated Project Management experience
- Computer (Microsoft Office) experience
- CAD (Solidworks) experience
- Computer modeling (COMSOL or Goma) experience
- Maturity, common sense and practicality
- Organized and methodical
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to interact and work with others in a team environment across work groups, payrolls and cultures

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
