The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Join Corning’s RD&E team as a Wireless Network Infrastructure Engineer, where you'll play a critical role in designing, deploying, and optimizing wireless and network infrastructure to support innovation and organizational goals. Collaborate with business stakeholders, global network teams, and product R&D groups to deliver impactful solutions in dynamic environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute network infrastructure builds and upgrades for RD&E facilities in partnership with global network teams.
• Serve as an escalation point for network issues, including wireless, firewalls, DNS, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and optimize Corning products in real-world scenarios.
• Advocate for high-performance network solutions to support scientific computing and advanced technologies.
• Communicate network changes, initiatives, and benefits to business groups and stakeholders.
• Document requirements and provide input on technical specifications and corporate standards.
• Mentor and support team members in achieving organizational goals.

Requirements:

• Education: BS in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field; or equivalent expertise.
• Experience: 7+ years in networking, including campus-wide wireless solutions (Mist, Arista, Cisco), wired/wireless debugging, and infrastructure design.
• Skills: Knowledge of IEEE 802.3/802.11 standards, network management systems, and end-to-end connectivity across diverse platforms including: wireless access points, LAN switches, core and data center switches, proxy, firewall, and load-balancer appliance . Strong troubleshooting, communication, and project management capabilities.
• Preferred: Certifications (Cisco CCNA, CWNP), international travel flexibility, and ability to learn new technologies quickly. Ability to communicate with a variety of stakeholders of all levels.

Schedule & Travel:

• Full-time, 40-hour weeks, with occasional extended hours during projects or deadlines.
• Limited travel, with potential for international assignments.

The range for this position is $117,482.00 - $161,539.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
