SCOPE/PURPOSE OF POSITION:

  • Partner with End User Services’ Solutions Architect and a customer centric focus group to create a roadmap that will lead into the engineering, implementation, and support for an enterprise rollout and management of end-user macOS devices via Jamf. This includes creating profiles, policies, deployment packages, and scripts required to deploy and configure the devices with the standard enterprise-wide toolset and synonymous security compliance to the PC environment.
  • This position will cross-train with the Windows PC engineer to create global support redundancy, policy and device alignment across the two platforms.

 

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, engineering and end-to-end management of Corning’s Jamf/macOS environment
  • Ensure the lifecycle management of Mac devices through the development and implementation of enterprise standard hardware/software best practices and standards
  • Implement MOB upgrades for endpoints (packages, version upgrades, patches, etc.) to include Jamf software delivery and packaging certification
  • Patching – Coordinates and monitors OS, security updates, along with integrated enterprise-wide tool set
  • Performance baselining and monitoring, including complexity reduction and optimization
  • Serve as the point of contact for Jamf/macOS related technical escalations and last tier support for operations and support teams, including 3rd party vendor technical escalations and participation in incident critical responses as necessary
  • Hardware testing and certification
  • Partner with application owners on remediation of vulnerable software
  • Maintain domain owned technical knowledge articles for Service Desk and Field Services Support resources
  • Engineering/technical lead for projects as necessary
  • Ensure currency of applicable documentation for responsible area

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. Computer Science or related IT field or A.S degree with commensurate experience

 

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS

  • Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP)
  • Jamf Certified
  • PC/Windows related certifications a plus

 

REQUIRED WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of operational support for Apple macOS devices to include integration, lifecycle roadmap design, and implementation of Apple Mac deployment in a large enterprise
  • 3+ years Jamf administration
  • Functional knowledge of Apple Business Manager and Microsoft 365 Apps for Enterprise provisioning
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Able to perform root cause and preventative analysis
  • Detailed experience in engineering and implementing deployment solutions
  • General understanding of basic network concepts and topology

 

DESIRED WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Working knowledge and demonstrated understanding of managed Windows environments including the use of SCCM and Active Directory Group Policy
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management of iOS using Jamf or InTune
  • In depth experience in scripting and automation (PowerShell)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Deployment Technology and Altiris Deployment Solutions
  • Advanced understanding and experience with implementing and managing Group Policies
