Role Purpose:
The Commercial Support Specialist functions as a project coordination lead for customer sales order activity and related operational initiatives. This role is responsible for driving alignment across cross-functional teams, managing order-related workflows, and ensuring critical activities remain on track from initiation through execution.
Acting as a central point of coordination, this individual will oversee the tracking of milestones, changes, risks, and follow-up actions tied to sales orders and commercial operations priorities. The role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who can manage multiple workstreams simultaneously, maintain clear documentation, and support timely execution across Planning, Finance, Production, Quality, Logistics, and Commercial Operations.
Success in this position requires strong project coordination and execution skills, sound judgment, and the ability to bring structure and visibility to fast-moving operational activity.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Execution
Lead coordination of order-related workflows and operational initiatives by establishing priorities, tracking milestones, managing action items, and ensuring timely execution across cross-functional teams.
Cross-Functional Project Management
Partner with internal stakeholders — including Planning, Finance, Production, Quality, and Logistics — to align on requirements, clarify dependencies, coordinate deliverables, and maintain momentum on shared objectives.
Order Workflow Management
Own the day-to-day tracking and coordination of customer sales order activity, ensuring status updates, changes, and next steps are documented, communicated, and advanced appropriately.
Change Control & Priority Management
Manage changes in shipment timing, quantities, amendments, and other order adjustments by assessing impacts, coordinating required updates, and ensuring teams remain aligned on revised priorities and timelines.
Issue Identification & Resolution
Proactively identify risks, discrepancies, and process gaps related to order activity, then coordinate across teams to resolve issues, escalate when needed, and prevent delays to execution.
Tracking, Reporting & Documentation
Develop and maintain trackers, status summaries, reports, and order-related briefs that provide clear visibility into project progress, open items, deadlines, and operational risks.
Operational Planning Support
Support execution of Commercial Operations priorities by organizing workflows, documenting action plans, following up on commitments, and helping ensure projects and recurring activities move forward efficiently.
Process Improvement
Evaluate recurring challenges and workflow inefficiencies, gather insights from day-to-day operations, and support implementation of process improvements that increase consistency, visibility, and execution effectiveness.
Experiences & Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, STEM or related field — or equivalent experience.
