Our Solar business delivers industry leading, U.S.-made solar components. Position Summary
Corning is developing the future of solar module manufacturing in Tolleson, AZ, and we're looking for a Manufacturing Data Engineer to build the data, reporting, and analytics foundation from the ground up. This high-impact role sits at the intersection of data engineering and manufacturing operations, owning KPI development, plant performance reporting, and analytical solutions that enable data-driven decision-making and operational excellence across manufacturing, warehouse, and business functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement data structures, dashboards, scorecards, and KPI frameworks that support startup operations and long-term business performance
- Partner with operations, supply chain, quality, finance, and IT to define data requirements, reporting priorities, and performance measures across functions
- Support operational excellence initiatives through root cause analysis, performance tracking, standardized metrics, and data-driven process improvements
- Establish and maintain standards for data governance, data quality, and reporting consistency to ensure scalable and reliable solutions
- Identify and resolve data-related issues across reports and systems; document key definitions, reporting logic, and KPI calculations
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Data Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- 3+ years of experience in data engineering, business intelligence, analytics, or reporting development
- Experience designing and implementing data structures, data models, reporting solutions, or performance measurement tools
- Proficiency in SQL; experience with data querying, transformation, and validation
- Experience with reporting or visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SAP reporting tools, or similar platforms
- Experience working with ERP, manufacturing, warehouse, or operational systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical troubleshooting skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a dynamic, startup environment.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting a new site startup, major implementation, or large-scale business transformation
- Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, supply chain, or plant environment, including SAP data, ERP reporting, or operational data environments
- Experience with process improvement, KPI standardization, data governance, automation tools, or scripting languages such as Python
- Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies
- Ability to identify business needs, improve processes, develop technical solutions, and implement practical tools from concept through execution.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while providing direction within cross-functional teams.

The range for this position is $86,722.00 - $119,244.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
