Description:
The EHS Specialist will assist the EHS Manager in managing and promoting safe production, environmental protection, occupational health, EHS cultural activities, and team building initiatives. This role supports the achievement of the company’s annual safety performance goals while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations and fostering a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Regulatory Compliance:
- Support compliance efforts with local, state, and federal environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations.
- Monitor changes in relevant regulations and assist in updating company policies and procedures as needed.
Safety Program Development:
- Assist in the design, and implementation of safety programs in collaboration with fellow EHS team members.
- Contribute to the development of procedures aimed at preventing workplace accidents and occupational illnesses, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation.
Training & Education:
- Conduct EHS training sessions, including safety talks, safety stand-downs, new hire EHS orientations, and proper PPE usage.
- Develop and deliver safety talks using PowerPoint presentations based on assigned safety topics.
Incident Investigation:
- Investigate workplace accidents, near-misses, and safety incidents in coordination with department supervisors to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Risk Assessment & Auditing:
- Perform weekly/monthly EH&S inspections to ensure compliance while correcting any identified issues.
- Conduct risk assessments with cross functional teams
Environmental Management:
- Ensure compliance with hazardous waste management requirements, including proper labeling, storage, and disposal practices.
- Conduct routine inspections of hazardous waste areas to verify adherence to regulatory standards.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate safety inspection records, incident reports, and training logs.
- Prepare reports for management.
- External Coordination
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Continuous Improvement & Communication
- Recommend process improvements to enhance safety and environmental performance.
- Promote a positive safety culture across all levels of the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2+ years of experience in EHS or a related role in manufacturing/industrial environments.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
- Strong communication and training skills.
- Ability to conduct inspections, investigations, and present findings.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with EHS software a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field (preferred).

- 2+ years of experience in Health and Safety Management.
- 2+ years of experience with Analysis Skills & Communication Skills.
- 2+ years of Risk Management experience.
- 2+ years of experience with OSHA Standards.
Work Environment:
- Office and manufacturing floor environment.
- May require occasional lifting (up to 25 lbs) and use of PPE.

The range for this position is $59,090.00 - $81,250.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
