Role Purpose
The Equipment & Facilities Engineering Manager leads the plant’s engineering and maintenance organizations to support manufacturing operations, optimize equipment performance, and maintain critical facilities and utility systems in a solar module manufacturing environment. This leader ensures compliance with engineering best practices, oversees capital and project execution, and develops technical talent. The role drives long-term planning, continuous improvement, and cross-functional alignment to achieve plant objectives and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop engineering teams to improve equipment performance, reliability, and overall plant capability while ensuring cost efficiency and quality.
- Manage full equipment lifecycle, including inventory control, maintenance records, inspections, troubleshooting, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Establish and enforce policies and change control standards for efficient and safe equipment operation.
- Lead diagnostic and root-cause analysis efforts to resolve technical issues and prevent recurrence.
- Plan, schedule, and oversee facilities and utilities maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maintain reliable operation of manufacturing systems.
- Oversee plant facility systems including HVAC, plant air, PWC, abatement, lighting, and utilities, ensuring all meet operational and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate specialized facilities or equipment maintenance with external contractors when required.
- Lead capital planning and procurement for new and replacement equipment, including vendor engagement, justification development, and alignment to budget.
- Manage maintenance budgets including labor, spare parts, equipment, and tooling.
- Analyze equipment and facility performance data to identify improvement opportunities and implement changes that enhance reliability, uptime, and operational efficiency.
- Mentor and develop engineering and maintenance talent on technical problem-solving and scientific methods for root cause analysis.
- Champion continuous improvement practices and drive adoption of manufacturing excellence tools and methodologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline is required.
- 8–10 years of manufacturing experience, including at least 5 years in production operations.
- Minimum 2 years of second-level leadership responsibility.
- Experience in operations and/or engineering with progressive responsibility.
- Proven experience in equipment engineering, equipment design, and/or maintenance.
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
- Proven track record of technical accomplishments such as performance improvements, capability gains, or reliability advancements.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results through project leadership and organizational influence.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and technical problem-solving skills.
- Budget management experience.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing excellence tools (AME, KT, Lean).
- Ability to communicate and coordinate effectively in international and multicultural environments.
- Strong ownership mindset with clear commitment to plant goals.
- Strong presentation and reporting skills.
Desired Qualificaitons
- High degree of engineering, equipment and facilities acumen.
- Experience in solar modules or wafer manufacturing.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Extensive project management experience.
- Previous experience acting in a leadership function within a matrixed organization.

The range for this position is $132,092.00 - $181,627.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
