Role Purpose

The Process Technician Supervisor leads a team of process technicians responsible for process control, process discipline, shop‑floor problem solving, and supporting early development of new products and manufacturing processes. This role requires strong leadership, technical acumen, and a passion for driving root‑cause analysis and continuous improvement in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop process technicians in daily manufacturing support activities.
  • Improve existing manufacturing processes and develop new methods to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Quality to define project scope, objectives, and timelines.
  • Analyze process data, identify root causes, and resolve technical issues using first‑principles approaches.
  • Support manufacturing improvement initiatives including variability reduction, defect reduction, process control, and Six Sigma activities.
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement to optimize processes, equipment, and technologies.
  • Provide technical guidance on complex issues and ensure compliance with applicable standards and requirements.

 

Work Hours

  • Flexibility to cover shift changeovers as needed.
  • Support a 24/7 operating structure, including leading weekend teams per a published schedule.

 

Travel Requirements 

  • Minimal; may include infrequent domestic or international travel.

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree preferred; technical/vocational training or relevant experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of manufacturing experience, ideally in high‑volume environments.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of basic manufacturing principles and the ability to apply them to real‑world problems.
  • Technical aptitude for troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and evaluating process data.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and issues effectively.
  • Hands‑on mechanical troubleshooting experience.
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience leading technicians or similar groups.
  • Ability to understand technical details, process interactions, and quality requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel or other statistical tools for data analysis and integration with supporting systems.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.

 

Desired Skills

  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification or demonstrated DMAIC project experience.
  • Lean manufacturing or error‑proofing experience.
  • Familiarity with KT (Kepner‑Tregoe) and MEE methodologies for technical problem solving.

 

Soft Skills

  • Effective communication across all organizational levels (engineers, operators, and leadership).
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration with operations.
  • Self‑motivated with high commitment levels.
  • Effective at managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate upward and downward in the organization.

The range for this position is $80,750.00 - $111,031.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
